أخبار اليوم - قالت وزارة المياه والري/سلطة المياه انه نتيجة للجهود الحكومية المتواصلة ومن خلال مؤسسات قطاع المياه (شركات المياه) حققت نجاحا وطنيا على مستوى المملكة في خفض الفاقد المائي خلال الربع الثالث من عام 2025 بنسبة 4,4% ليصل الى نسبة الفاقد المائي في جميع مناطق المملكة الى 40,9%، مقارنة مع الربع الثالث 2024 البالغ (45,3%) تحقيقا للاستراتيجية الوطنية للمياه 2023-2040 واستراتيجية خفض الفاقد المائي نتيجة تكثيف جهود خفض الفاقد المائي و ادخال تقنيات التكنولوجيا الحديثة في توزيع وإدارة والتحكم بمصادر المياه والتحول الرقمي واشراك القطاع الخاص في عمليات صيانة الخطوط ورفع كفاءة عمليات قراءة العدادات والفوترة التي وصلت دقة القراءات الى 98% وزيادة عدد فرق الصيانة في جميع مناطق المملكة واستبدال مليون عداد مياه معطل منها نصف مليون عداد في مناطق مياهنا ، وتكثيف حملات ضبط الاعتداءات التي بلغت خلال 2025 حيث تم ضبط اكثر من 11,519 اعتداء على خطوط رئيسية وتوفير 10,8 مليون متر مكعب في المملكة خلال الربع الثالث /2025 ، وتوفير نحو 31,4 مليون متر مكعب خلال العام الحالي انعكست على تحسين التزويد المائي للمواطنين في جميع المناطق وكذلك التحول الى الانسياب الطبيعي في مختلف المناطق ، موكدة ان ذلك يعد إنجازا وطنيا كبيرا سينعكس بشكل كبير على تحسين خدمات المياه في جميع مناطق المملكة .
واشارت الى ان الفاقد المائي في رأس أولويات القطاع المائي من خلال تعزيز الشراكة مع القطاع الخاص المحلي كأول تجربة على مستوى المنطقة، أسهمت بخفض الفاقد بشكل تراكمي من بداية العام وحتى نهاية الربع الثالث 2025 بنسبة 5,3% مقارنة بالفترة المشابهة من العام الماضي 2024، وأوضحت ان استراتيجية خفض الفاقد التي بدأت عام 2021 نجحت سنويا في خفض الفاقد من 52,5 % عام 2021/2022 بمعدل 2% سنويا ، مبينة ان مشاريع خفض الفاقد شملت إعادة هيكلة مناطق التوزيع وتقسيم المناطق الرئيسية الى فرعية يسهل مراقبتها وإدارة الضغوط فيها ، استخدام تقنيات حديثة مثل برامج ERP، Cash Desk، X7 ، واطلاق تطبيق وزارة المياه والري الذي وفر خدمات الكترونية متقدمة للتعامل مع كافة ملاحظات الاخوة المواطنين وحسنت من عمليات التزويد المائي .
The government has achieved a national milestone by reducing water loss during the third quarter of 2025 to 40.9%.
The Ministry of Water and Irrigation / Water Authority stated that, as a result of the government’s continued efforts and through the institutions of the water sector (water companies), a nationwide success has been achieved in reducing water loss during the third quarter of 2025 by 4.4%. This brought the total water loss in all regions of the Kingdom down to 40.9%, compared to 45.3% in the third quarter of 2024. This accomplishment aligns with the National Water Strategy 2023–2040 and the Water Loss Reduction Strategy. The Ministry added that this progress resulted from intensified efforts to reduce water loss, the introduction of modern technologies for water distribution, management, and control, digital transformation, and the engagement of the private sector in pipeline maintenance. These efforts also included improving the accuracy of meter readings and billing—now reaching 98%—and increasing the number of maintenance teams across the Kingdom. Additionally, one million malfunctioning water meters were replaced, including half a million in the Miyahuna service areas. The Ministry emphasized that campaigns to detect violations were intensified throughout 2025, leading to the discovery of more than 11,519 illegal connections on main lines. These efforts saved 10.8 million cubic meters of water in the third quarter of 2025 and approximately 31.4 million cubic meters during the current year. The improvements have positively impacted water supply to citizens across all regions and enabled a shift toward natural flow in many areas. The Ministry confirmed that this represents a major national achievement that will significantly enhance water services throughout the Kingdom. The Ministry also noted that reducing water loss remains a top priority for the water sector. Strengthening partnerships with the local private sector—considered the first model of its kind in the region—helped reduce water loss cumulatively by 5.3% from the beginning of the year until the end of the third quarter of 2025, compared to the same period in 2024. It further explained that the water loss reduction strategy, launched in 2021, has successfully lowered losses annually from 52,5% in 2021/2022 at an average rate of 2% per year.
