أخبار اليوم - وقع وزير المياه والري المهندس رائد أبو السعود عقد سلطة المياه / إدارة شركة مياه اليرموك مع شركة فيوليا العالمية بالشراكة مع شركة مياه اليرموك اليوم الاثنين 16/2/2026 بحضور رئيس هيئة مديري شركة مياه اليرموك أسامة المحيسن وامين عام سلطة المياه المهندس سفيان البطاينة ومدير عام شركة مياه اليرموك المهندس محمد العمايرة وعدد من مسؤولي قطاع المياه الممول من حكومة الولايات المتحدة الامريكية بهدف تحسين كفاءة الخدمات المقدمة للمواطنين في محافظات الشمال ورفع جودتها لمدة اربع سنوات قابلة للتجديد لمدة عامين اضافيين.

وبين الوزير ان جهود وزاره المياه والري/ سلطة المياه متواصلة ضمن الاستراتيجية الوطنية للمياه 2023-2040 ورؤية التحديث الاقتصادي لإحداث نقلة نوعية و تحسين خدمات المياه والصرف الصحي المقدمه للمواطنين في محافظات الشمال وتطوير الخدمات ورفع كفاءة التزويد المائي والحد من الفاقد المائي وخفض كلف الطاقة وتعزيز استدامة خدمات المياه والصرف الصحي وتحسين كفاءة إدارة قطاع المياه وتطوير الأداء المؤسسي وتعزيز الشراكة مع القطاع الخاص ، حيث يجسد العقد التزام الولايات المتحدة بالعمل مع الأردن لتقديم تحسينات ملموسة في خدمات المياه والذي يعزز المصالح المتبادلة .

وأضاف المهندس أبو السعود ان المواطنين سيلمسون نقلة نوعية في جودة الخدمة وتعزيز أداء شركة مياه اليرموك واستقرارها المالي بالشراكة مع شركة فيوليا العالمية ورفع كفاءة الخدمات المقدمة وتحقيق سرعة الاستجابة، مبينا ان عقد الإدارة يشمل الإشراف على عمليات التشغيل والصيانة في شركة مياه اليرموك، وتطبيق نموذج إداري قائم على قياس ومتابعة مؤشرات الأداء، متضمناً أهدافاً واضحة ومسؤوليات محددة. كما سيعمل على تعزيز الأنظمة الداخلية، وتطوير الحوكمة والرقابة، ودعم تنمية الكوادر لضمان تحقيق تحسينات مستدامة طوال فترة تنفيذ العقد.
كما يهدف العقد إلى تعزيز خدمات المياه والصرف الصحي في محافظات إربد وعجلون وجرش والمفرق، التي تقع ضمن نطاق خدمة شركة مياه اليرموك.
وثمن وزير المياه والري دعم الدول الصديقة والمانحين خاصة حكومة الولايات المتحدة الامريكية على الدعم المقدم لقطاع المياه والذي سيسهم في مواجهة مختلف التحديات وتحسين مستوى الخدمة معربا عن شكره لشركة فيوليا مؤكدا ان الخطوات التحضيرية استكملت لضمان جاهزية مياه اليرموك قبل المباشرة بتنفيذ العقد مطلع نيسان القادم .
فيليب بوردو، نائب الرئيس التنفيذي لمنطقة أفريقيا والشرق الأوسط وشمال أفريقيا في شركة فيوليا أعرب عن تقدير الشركة للشراكة مع وزارة المياه والري وشركة مياه اليرموك، مؤكدا التزام فيوليا بدعم تحسين الأداء التشغيلي وجودة الخدمات، والمساهمة في استدامة قطاع المياه في الأردن.

المهندس أحمد العواملة، مدير وحدة مشاريع الشراكة بين القطاعين العام والخاص، قدم عرضاً موجزاً أوضح من خلاله الملامح العامة لعقد الإدارة، واستعرض خلفية العقد ومسار تطويره، وأهدافه الرئيسية، والخدمات المزمع تقديمها، وإطار الشراكة والحوكمة، ومؤشرات قياس الأداء، والمخرجات المتوقعة، وآليات التنفيذ والمتابعة، بما يضمن وضوح التفاصيل الأساسية أمام جميع الشركاء المعنيين.







Supported from the United States Government to Strengthen the Water Sector
Ministry of Water and Irrigation Signs Management Contract for Yarmouk Water Company to Enhance Water Services in the Northern Governorates
The Minister of Water and Irrigation, Eng. Raed Abu Al-Soud, signed today, Monday 16/2/2026, a management contract for WAJ / Yarmouk Water Company with Veolia International, in partnership with Yarmouk Water Company. The signing ceremony was attended by the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Yarmouk Water Company, Osama Al-Muhaisen; the Secretary General of the Water Authority, Eng. Sufyan Al-Batayneh; the General Manager of Yarmouk Water Company, Eng. Mohammad Al-Amayreh; and a number of officials from the water sector, with funding support from the United States Government.
The contract aims to enhance the efficiency and quality of water services provided to citizens in the northern governorates for a four-year period, renewable for an additional two years.
The Minister affirmed that the efforts of the Ministry of Water and Irrigation / Water Authority continue in line with the National Water Strategy 2023–2040 and the Economic Modernization Vision to achieve a qualitative transformation in water and wastewater services across the northern governorates. These efforts focus on upgrading services, increasing water supply efficiency, reducing non-revenue water, lowering energy costs, strengthening the sustainability of water and wastewater services, improving water sector governance and institutional performance, and expanding partnerships with the private sector.
He noted that the contract reflects the United States’ commitment to working alongside Jordan to deliver tangible improvements in water services, thereby advancing shared interests.
Eng. Abu Al-Soud emphasized that citizens will experience a noticeable improvement in service quality, enhanced operational performance, and greater financial stability for Yarmouk Water Company through its partnership with Veolia International. He explained that the management contract includes oversight of operation and maintenance activities and the implementation of a performance-based management model built on clear key performance indicators, defined objectives, and specific responsibilities.
The agreement will also strengthen internal systems, enhance governance and oversight mechanisms, and support capacity-building for staff to ensure sustainable improvements throughout the contract period.
The contract seeks to improve water and wastewater services in the governorates of Irbid, Ajloun, Jerash, and Mafraq, which fall within the service area of Yarmouk Water Company.
The Minister expressed appreciation for the support provided by friendly countries and donors, particularly the United States Government, noting that such support will contribute to addressing sector challenges and improving service levels. He also extended his thanks to Veolia, confirming that all preparatory steps have been completed to ensure Yarmouk Water Company’s readiness ahead of the commencement of contract implementation early next April.
Philippe Bordet, Executive Vice President for Africa and the Middle East and North Africa at Veolia, expressed the company’s appreciation for its partnership with the Ministry of Water and Irrigation and Yarmouk Water Company, reaffirming Veolia’s commitment to enhancing operational performance, improving service quality, and contributing to the long-term sustainability of Jordan’s water sector.
Eng. Ahmad Al-Awamleh, Director of the Public-Private Partnership Projects Unit, delivered a brief presentation outlining the key components of the management contract. He reviewed the contract’s background and development process, its primary objectives, the scope of services to be delivered, the partnership and governance framework, key performance indicators, expected outcomes, and the implementation and monitoring mechanisms, ensuring clarity and transparency for all stakeholders involved.
